Description of European Biogas Association (EBA)

European Biogas Association (EBA) was founded in February 2009 as a Belgian non-profit organisation aiming to promote the deployment of sustainable biogas production and use in Europe. This covers all energetic applications of biogas like heat, electricity and automotive fuel.

EBA’s membership comprises national biogas associations, institutes and companies from over 20 countries all across Europe. The member associations cover the majority of producers, companies, consultants and researchers in the field of biogas within Europe. EBA’s strategy defines three priorities: establish biogas as an important

part of Europe’s energy mix, promote source separation of household waste to increase the gas potential and support the production ofbiomethane as vehicle fuel.

Szeged

With its 12 faculties, about 30,000 students and 8,500 employees, the University of Szeged is a modern integrated higher education institution. The University of Szeged offers courses from undergraduate to PhD (levels), post-secondary vocational education as well as courses at all levels of tertiary education. Almost all scientific areas are represented in research, thanks to the partnership with various companies and

organizations. In 2010 the University had 130 funded projects with an almost 14 million euro budget. We participated in 31 FP6 and 21 FP7 projects so far.

At the Department of Biotechnology modern molecular biology andmetagenomics approaches have been employed in the investigations of the complex microbiological series of events that leads to biogas formation.

A thorough understanding of the molecular events and interactions among participating microbes enable us to intensify the process through biotechnological manipulation of the intermediate anaerobic degradation steps according to our patented procedure.  The approach has been tested in field experiments and additional microbiological bottlenecks of

SLOVAK INNOVATION AND ENERGY AGENCY

SIEA acts as the national energy agency and has very good knowledge of the Slovak energy market and its participants, the decision makers, companies, professionals, associations and all those who are involved in the area of energy as well as energy efficiency. Special emphasis is laid

on the area of trainings and information seminars for professionals as well as for general public dealing with the rational energy use and wider exploitation of renewable energy sources.

The Polish National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE)

The Polish National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE) was established, following the Parliament resolution in 1994, with the aim to serve as a national sustainable energy agency.

KAPE is the joint stock company. The shareholders are the governmental institutions: the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management,

the Industrial Development Agency, the National Economy Bank. The mission of the Polish National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE) is to develop and implement sustainable energy policies in Poland and playing a leading role in providing a wide range of sustainable energy services to keep a leading national role to participate in preparation and implementation of principles of Polish sustainable energy policy.

KAPE carries out activities aimed at improving rational use of energy (RUE), promotion of renewable energy sources (RES) and energy related environmental issues.

NL Agency

NL Agency consists of five thematic divisions. The divisions are:

  • NL Energy and Climate Change
  • NL EVD International
  • NL Innovation
  • NL Environment
  • NL Patent Office

Focussing on sustainability, innovation, international business and cooperation, NL Agency is the number one contact point for businesses, knowledge institutions and government bodies. You can contact us for information, advice, financing, networking and regulatory matters. Whether you are entrepreneur, (knowledge) institution or government body.

1.Clear contact points, improvement and quality

NL Agency ensures that government policy is realised quickly, properly and effectively: through clear contact points, first-rate services, sound advice and support. One collective focus, with one customer support desk, coherent programmes, better coordinated financing programmes and clear, short procedures will contribute to this.
NL Agency also handles monitoring and impact assessment of policy implementation. This organisation picks up signals of the effects of policy implementation and passes these on to the policy makers.Furthermore, NL Agency acts as the eyes and ears for the various contracting ministries, providing advice on the current state of society. This should lead toto a closer correlation between policy and implementation in the future.

2. Collaboration

'Answers for Business'  (Antwoord voor bedrijven) is also part of NL Agency. This organisation provides businesses with information about Dutch government permits, laws and subsidies and thus also on theprogrammes and schemes of NL Agency.
Furthermore, NL Agency works closely with Syntens, the national innovation network for entrepreneurs.

3. Missionand core values

The mission of NL agency is: the excellent implementation of international, innovation and sustainability policy.NL Agency uses the following core values for the implementation of its mission: involvement, reliability and ambition.

NL Agency falls under the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. The organisation implements programmes, regulations and laws for 11 departments and 17 clients outside the government.

Austrian Energy Agency

The Austrian Energy Agency is the Austrian energy research and policy institution in which the federal and the provincial administration („Bund“ and „Länder“ respectively) and some important institutions and corporations from a variety of economic sectors cooperate. The board of directors („Präsidium“) comprises the federal minister charged with environmental affairs, the federal minister charged with energy affairs and the chairman of the provincial governors. The focus of the research activities for the public sector and the economy are the sustainable production and use of energy and a secure energy supply for Austria.
